SOUNDFLOWER PC HOW TO
Today I finally figured out how to record digital audio into Sound Forge in Parallels using my trusty old Roland VS880EX (now with Compact Flash instead of original whiny IDE Hard Drive) as a digital source.
You will need Parallels Desktop for this application. Although DP has some nice wav editing tools, for quick and dirty audio file editing, you really can't get any quicker and simpler then Sound Forge. Soundflower is free, open-source, and runs on Mac Intel and PPC computers. Soundflower is easy to use, it simply presents itself as an audio device, allowing any audio application to send and receive audio with no other support needed. Sometimes it is useful to have Windows based Sony Sound Forge as an audio editor while working on a Mac. Soundflower is a OS X system extension that allows applications to pass audio to other applications.
